Custom Engagement Rings
A Ring Built Around Your Story
Most engagement rings are chosen from a case. You find something close to what you imagined, and you make it work. A custom ring is different — it's built from the beginning around the person you're giving it to.
Jimmy designs custom engagement rings in 14K gold, from the initial conversation through the final polish. Here's how that process works.
It Starts With a Conversation
The first step isn't picking a stone or a metal — it's talking. Jimmy wants to understand what you're looking for, and more than that, what she wears, what she loves, what her everyday life looks like. A ring that's worn every day for decades needs to fit that life, not just the moment it's given.
You don't need to come in with a Pinterest board. You don't need to know the difference between a bezel and a prong setting. You just need to show up and be honest about what matters to you.
Design and CAD
Once you have a direction, Jimmy works up a design using CAD (computer-aided design) software. You'll see a 3D rendering of the ring before a single piece of metal is cast — so you can look at it, react to it, and make changes while they're still easy to make.
Most clients go through one or two rounds of revision before settling on something they love. This is where you can adjust proportions, swap a stone, widen a band, or simplify a detail that isn't reading right. The rendering stage exists precisely so the finished ring isn't a surprise.
Handcrafted to Finished
When the design is locked, Jimmy casts the piece in 14K gold — yellow, white, or rose, your choice — sets the stones by hand, and finishes the surface. Every piece is one-of-a-kind. The ring you're giving her doesn't exist anywhere else.
Turnaround time varies depending on the complexity of the design and stone sourcing. Jimmy will give you a realistic timeline at the start, and if you have a date in mind, it's worth mentioning that early.
What Makes It Different
There are jewelers who offer "customization" that amounts to picking a setting from column A and a stone from column B. That's not what this is. A custom Jimmy & Co ring is designed from scratch, specific to you, in a studio — not a factory.
The difference shows up in the details: the way a prong sits, the texture of the band, the proportions of the halo. Those aren't decisions a catalog can make for you.
